Welcome to RumCay.com! This is a new kind of community website that joins with the Rum Cayan newspaper in a mission of helping Local Rum Cayans come together as a community.

The Rum Cayan newpaper & RumCayan.com will be operated as non-profit where all profits will be used to fund local events, programs & services and help  the community when needs arise.

With your help, we will provide a friendly, safe, easy to use place on the Web for everyone in Rum Cay to post news items, create a unified community calendar, and share photos, recipes, Family History opinions, and more.

We believe that Rum Cayan should be a part of the community   -- both online and in print. We promise to be open, accessible, and easy to contact. With your help, we will continuously improve the Rum Cayan, and RumCayan.com and provide Rum Cay with a much needed source of News , events and a place to serve as the leading information source that empowers our community, while never compromising our principles.

We Need Your Help

We need your help in making sure that the Rum Cayan will be successful in bringing a quality informed medium to Rum Cay by getting involved supplying us with your up to date information , news, events, island and family history  and anything that is important to the community.

We are looking for a responsible person to be the main contact in Rum cay and/or editor of the newspaper. This person must have the island’s best interest at heart and be willing to help this new Newspaper become a true Community information service . OUR MISSION

The mission of the Rum Cayan Community Newspaper and RumCayan.com We will strive to let the readers know of anything that is going on in the community that warrants their attention. We will strive to present such information in a clear, accurate and unbiased way. Where there is more than one side to an issue we work diligently to present all sides in an accurate manner.

 RumCayan is here :

Ø  To provide a voice for the people of Rum Cay.  

Ø  To raise awareness of important issues, events and resources (of particular interest to Rum Cay’s residents and businesses) and that is important to the community.

 Ø  To increase Rum Cay’s viability and potential by highlighting our positive attributes, such as its rich diversity, interesting history and down-to-earth, hard-working friendly people.

 Ø  To foster pride, ownership and involvement in community, councils and other community improvement groups, with the intent to create positive change on the island.

 Ø  To promote mutual acceptance and appreciation among the different cultural groups on Rum Cay.

 Ø  To stimulate and promote Rum Cay’s businesses and quality of life.

 Ø  To promote and support events, programs and services to the common good of Rum Cay and its citizens

 Ø  To have high standards in the practice of the profession of journalism, and to promote a high standard of conduct and professional ethics in the business of this local community newspaper.

 Ø  To facilitate the sharing of ideas and experience between members, Family genealogy, island history, news, developments, events, etc.
